Through government-backed initiatives, distillers can enhance their skills, improve infrastructure, grow their visitor experiences, and expand into international markets. These programs are designed to drive industry growth, innovation, and long-term success for Victorian distilleries.
Distillery Door Program
The Distillery Door Program is a Victorian Government initiative designed to support and enhance the state's vibrant distillery industry. Launched in the 2021–22 financial year, the program offers funding across four key streams:
Skills Development: Investing in education and training to bolster industry expertise.
Boosting the Visitor Economy: Providing grants to improve distillery visitor experiences and facilities.
Infrastructure and Safety: Offering rebates for safety improvements and infrastructure upgrades. (Agriculture Victoria)
Export Capability: Delivering resources and support to assist distillers in accessing international markets. (Agriculture Victoria)
In the 2024–25 financial year, the program introduced the Business Growth – Fit-for-Purpose Grants, offering up to $200,000 for projects that drive business expansion through new equipment, technology, or promotional activities. Applications for these grants are open until 25 March 2025.
The Distillery Door Program has previously provided over $7 million in direct funding, creating new jobs and opportunities within Victoria's distillery sector. For more information on eligibility and the application process, visit the Agriculture Victoria website.
