Industry Strategy Discussion Paper & Forums
Have your say to shape the direction of the Victorian Spirits Industry!
SVA has committed to develop a Victorian Distilled Spirits Strategy during the 2024-25 financial year. The Strategy will be owned by industry and delivered in partnership with the Victorian Government through Agriculture Victoria. AtticusNow have been engaged to facilitate this work.
The Strategy will be for all spirits industry stakeholders. It will provide an insight to Victoria’s position on the global stage, tell the success stories of our industry, and outline Victoria’s unique value proposition. It will outline the vision for the industry, highlighting the potential growth opportunities and outline the channels for growth and profitability – being realistic about what steps and pathways are required. Most importantly, the Strategy will capture the fun and excitement of working in this industry – telling the story of what makes Victoria a great place to make spirits.
To inform the Strategy, we would like to invite you to attend the Victorian Distilled Spirits Strategy Industry Forums. Please note that these events are happening next week, and we would like to see everyone attend one and have their say—some in person and some online. We also have a Discussion Paper to help with a more robust discussion on the day.

- Tuesday 3 December – Ballarat industry forum @ Kilderkin Distillery (11am-2pm)
- Wednesday 4 December – Online industry forum 1 (10am-12pm)
- Thursday 5 December – Mornington Peninsula industry forum @ Bass & Flinders Distillery (11am-2pm)
- Tuesday 10 December – Melbourne industry forum @ Starward Distillery (11am-2pm)
- Thursday 12 December – Online industry forum 2 (10am-12pm)
- Thursday 12 December – First Peoples online industry forum (1pm-3pm)
First Peoples online forum – please note that this event is for Indigenous stakeholders only. We will contact participating stakeholders directly with details regarding this event.
